Camp: Under RE-Invention

With current the Covid-19 Pandemic, we have decided to completely RE-INVENT how we do camp for 2020.  We are very excited to see how God leads us as we prayerfully answer those questions.  We were particularly excited to get some clarity on May 6 with “BC’s Restart Plan” released by the Government of BC.  We will continue to follow guidelines and best practices put out by the health authorities of BC and go above and beyond where ever possible.
We are meeting regularly and asking:
1) How can we maximize children’s safety?
2) How can we maximize children’s fun?
3) How can we keep camp affordable so every kid can attend?
We are carefully looking over every detail of camp asking the above questions, here is the general direction we moving in (subject to change)
1) minimize group size by having several ‘min-camps’ within a larger camp
2) maximize outdoor activities for Covid-safety in the sunshine (yes, plan on sunscreen)
3) minimize contact between groups or “mini-camps”
4) maximize cleaning and disinfecting of any common areas, especially ‘”high touch”
5) … anything else we can think of make sure camp is safe and fun this summer.  Your kids have been inside at home much more than usually.   We want to find a safe way to get them outside having fun!
We are currently planning to run 6 camps from July 13 to Aug 21.
As soon as we are ready, we will open registration for the 2020 camp season (that will likely be by end of May).  We will continue to adjust our plans as needed to follow guidance from our provincial health authorities.
Sincerely: Walter Rogers
